Review: Lighted Shimmers LED Hummer Vibrator

The Lighted Shimmers LED hummer vibrator is an excellent seller at my store, and a personal favorite for myself and many of the staff. It has a unique design; with fun light up colors and decent power that most people can not resist.

The material is a harder plastic which, for some reason, people are loveworks.com less willing to try. I call myself a hard plastic advocate sometimes, because I do not think hard plastic toys get enough credit.

The most important fact about plastic is that you do not lose any power. Vibrations travel very easily through a harder surface than they do with a surface that has some cushioning. Plastic does need to be cleaned immediately after use, but is still easy to clean. (I also recommend cleaning again before use, just to be safe; it is a material that can be known to harbor bateria if it is not cleaned properly.)

I also hear a lot of, “it can be uncomfortable”. Upon further questioning, these comments come from customers who do not use lubrication while playing. Lubrication is your friend! Even if you think you do not need it, it can greatly improve playtime, and comfort levels.  But make sure it is a lube that YOU like, and that YOU have chosen.

Honestly, the design of the Lighted Shimmers is what really sells it. It is so unique, and highly desired by most women. It may look confusing at first, but then it just all makes sense! It is made for clitoral stimulation, but in this one toy it offers several ways to acheive climax.

It is about 6 1/2″ long, and has a motor directly in the top for maximum stimulation. It also has a sort of mild hook or point on one side of the top for direct and precise clitoral stimulation. This toy will certainly wake up the “little man in the boat”.

On the opposite side of the top it has more of a hood design. In my opinion, the hood design is what makes this toy so perfect. You can use it to massge the entire outer vagina during fore play, or if you want something more direct, you can cover your clitoral area completely with it. If you chose to cover the entire clitoral area with it be prepared for something intense!

Of course you can use the LED hummer vibrator for vaginal penetration if desired. It is long enough, it is safe too, but generally, inserting this toy it is not my prefered way to use it.

Notice the name, “Lighted” Shimmers “LED” hummer vibrator. It really lights up as well. It is available in either purple or pink, but is completely loveworks.com see thru. I know the purple has blue lights that shine when in use, and the lighting wasn’t so over powering, but it was distracting for myself personally.  Some people love this idea, and some just dont care.

I think one or two lighted toys are necessary in every collection! They add just the right amount of fun when introducing toys with a new partner that may not be as comfortable, or just when you want something new. Either way a giggle will be had.  Plus, every woman should have a backup when she can’t find her “disco-era mirror ball” to set the mood!

The hummber vibrator is controlled by a turn dial at the bottom. These tend to be my least favorite designs for controlling or maintaining speed in a toy. I like how easy they are to  turn to high and get busy, but sometimes a hand slips or move and it changes the speed when it’s not intended, and I don’t like that.

However, I do not notice that as much with this product. It has a much more sturdy turn dial than a lot of others with the same type of system.

The toy’s noise level I would describe as “medium”. It is not a loud buzz your neighbors can hear, but it is not what I consider whisper quiet either. However, under covers I doubt it can be heard through a closed door.  So don’t worry about taking a few minutes of “personal time” during that slightly-boring dinner party.

The packaging describes this as a waterproof sex toy, but this is another one I recommend for shower use, rather than bath tub use. It does have a plastic ring around the base so that water will not enter the battery compartment once screwed tightly shut, but I always say better safe than sorry. Those plastic rings tend to stretch everytime you change loveworks.com batteries (in any toy)  Not completely submergeing a toy design like this only increases the life span of the product.

In general the fun design and powerful stimulation you get from this hummer vibrator makes it a complete win in my book!

When I first saw this toy I thought "what in the world is that?" Well, my curiosity got the best of me and I bought it. At first the design of it caught me off guard. Well once I put the batteries in it and used it, I was very surprised and it left me wanting to use it more. I have never had a toy that made me actually feel like I HAD to use it. It is quiet, easy to keep clean, and overall amazing. I am so glad my curiosity took over…it needs to do that more often! lol

This toy was just Ok for me.  It wasn't anything that made me go omg but it got the job done.  It was a little loud when I turned it on.. Maybe the vibrations against the batteries inside of it.. Who knows. But It vibrated decently,  the piece at the end of it meant to be used on the clit was a plus,  and the shape of it feels good.  If it was silicone I would've enjoyed it much more.  Cleanup was easy and simple to do.  Overall it was great but as I said it didn't make me go omg. Its not a bad toy at all.  Personally I would give it 3 stars.  Its not the best and definitely not the worst.  Worth a try though.

Everyone is different. Every person is going to feel differently about something. That being said, I've been pretty happy with this viberator. It took a little longer to climax than usual, but it wasn't a bad thing. I havent had any trouble with it when it comes to the batteries. I also make sure to remove the batteries between uses so they last much longer. Unfortunately, the turn dial can be a pain in the ass. It slips easily from the highest settings to the lowest, which can drive you nuts. Also after a while it tends to get a bit loud. In the long run I ended up deciding that I was very happy with it. It cleans up really easy too, which is even better. It was really inexpensive, and in that case it will be easy to replace if I want. I'm just hoping that it has a decent long life to it. Only time will tell!

When I first saw this toy, the "hummer vibrator" out of the box, I thought "no way this thing is any good, it looks cheap." When I felt it for the first time, i thought it could be stronger but I was shopping on a budget, so I went for it. I wasnt sure how the hard plastic would feel, but I've come (haha) to love it! The scooped head on the end of it is perfect for cupping the clitoris and directing all vibration straight to it. The little hook in the opposite side of the head delivers even more intense vibrations with pinpoint accuracy, and I usually can't use that side much because it is SO strong. I underestimated how well this toy is designed for my body! The LED light show is great for playing in the dark with my hubby, and we've been having more "fun" in the bedroom outside of our ordinary routine. I think I would rather a softer material on the toy itself, but I cannot argue that this vibrator toy doesn't do its job. If you're looking for smething simple and inexpensive for clitoral play, this is the toy for you.

I wasn't left wowed by this toy. It wasn't really anything to hoot and holler about. To me it was just a basic vibrator. Nothing about it was very special or different. The toy is plastic, the vibration part isn't bad but it's not the strongest, the "pin point" part isn't really pin point. I'd actually say it's just a part that gets in the way. Don't drop it on a hard wood floor. It will crack. Maybe if the toy had a silicone sleeve to put over it and the intensity be a lot more, it would be a winner. But as is it was alright. Possibly for a beginner this would be a great toy for them, but someone like myself who owns a lot of toys this wasn't anything that stood out.
